
Description
Majene Regency is one of the six regencies which comprise West Sulawesi Province, Indonesia, on the island of Sulawesi. The Regency covers a land area of 947.84 km2, and had a population of 151,197 at the 2010 Census and 174,407 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2025 was 191,626. The town of Majene in the far south of the regency is the administrative capital, and consists of two administrative districts - Banggae and Banggae Timur - with over 43% of the regency population between them.
